Divers hope to find the owners of a drone and its memory card of photos and videos that was found underwater at the bottom of cliffs.

Members of Caithness Diving Club made the discovery last weekend at Geo of Sclaites at Duncansby Head.

The club said the images showed a couple, with their dog, waving up to the drone - and also a campervan with an Italian registration.

A spokesman said: "The drone itself is obviously a write-off, but it would be nice to get the memory card back to the owners at least."

The club said its divers were well used to seeing shipwrecks at various sites along the Caithness coast, but they were surprised to find a drone.

The machine is believed to have struck the cliffside before going into the sea.

Divers brought the drone back to the surface in an effort to remove litter from the seabed.

One of the dive team was able to recover the memory card.
