Pigs with wings, dressed as animals and a couple with a Harry Potter theme have all featured at an arts festival.

The Calne Pig Parade was part of the Wiltshire town's music and arts festival, which celebrated its 50th anniversary on 5 October.

The papier-mâché pig sculptures were created in recognition of the town's heritage - marking 40 years since the demolition of the Harris bacon factory.

Many of the pigs, which were decorated by local people, community groups and organisations, were on display in local shop windows before competing for prizes.

Flying pigs were a regular theme, including with this RAF-style pig

More than 700 people went to see them all gathered together at the festival's pig parade.

The idea was originally launched at the Calne Carnival and had backing from the town council.

People could buy a pig at the carnival and get it decorated in time for the parade.

There were a number of awards, with the People's Vote winner announced as Rosie the Flying Piggie.

There is still a chance to see some of the pigs, with 50 on display at the Calne Heritage Centre until the end of October.
