A school bus driver is being investigated by police over allegations he was viewing pornography while picking up pupils in the Scottish Borders.

Officers were waiting for the Denholm bus when it arrived at Jedburgh Grammar Campus last Friday.

Allegations were initially made against a driver on an online group chat, before a complaint was passed on to Police Scotland by a parent.

A police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of inappropriate behaviour which happened in the Denholm area."

Although a driver has been removed from the service, investigating officers have yet to establish if there was any criminality.

A parent told the BBC: "We thought the children were just joking at first but more and more people were talking online about what was being viewed by the driver."

Operators, Howard Snaith Travel, have declined to comment.

Scottish Borders Council say they are unable to discuss a live police investigation, but confirmed that they are not reviewing the bus contract.
