A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was attacked at a property in York.

Officers were called to an address in Rawdon Avenue, in the Tang Hall area, shortly before midnight on 28 December, North Yorkshire Police said.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was discharged the next day but continues to receive treatment, the force said.

The 44-year-old woman was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning, a police spokesperson said, adding that officers believed the attack to be an "isolated incident".
