Road reopens after A19 lorry crash
Part of a major road has reopened after a crash involving two lorries.
The A19 was shut northbound between the A67 at Crathorne, North Yorkshire, and the Teesport turn-off on the A174 at Thornaby, Teesside.
It happened at about 05:00 GMT and there was a "significant clear-up operation" because both vehicles spilled their loads, National Highways said.
Both the northbound and southbound carriageways reopened before 16:00 GMT after long delays.
No injuries have been reported.
Cleveland Police were among the emergency services at the scene.
Tom Loach, from National Highways, said there had been "substantial" damage to both vehicles.
He said a team of 32 people took part in the clean-up operation.
"One of the HGVs was carrying shopping goods, milk and eggs, cooking oil," Mr Loach said.
