'Beloved sons' killed in Okehampton car crash
Tributes have been paid to two young men who were killed in a car crash on a Devon road.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident involving a blue MG ZS happened at about 03:15 GMT on Tuesday on the B3260 in Okehampton.
On Friday, the force said the two men who died were 20-year-old Alfie Abbott from Kingsteignton and Liam Shears, 18, from Chagford, who were both described by their families as "beloved sons".
Police said a 20-year-old man from Chagford arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and causing death by dangerous driving had been de-arrested and would attend a police interview in due course.
In a tribute to Mr Abbott, who was pronounced dead at the scene, his family said: "Alfie was a beloved son, brother and a great friend to many.
"He was the life and soul of every party and someone who will be sincerely missed."
The family of Mr Shears, who died while being taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, said: "Liam was a beloved son, brother, boyfriend and a great friend to many."
A police spokesperson said an appeal for witnesses to the crash remained active and anyone with information has been asked to contact investigating officers.
