A man has been found guilty of raping a number of women and girls.

Jamie Carnochan, 27, of Stafford, was convicted on Wednesday on all the counts he was charged with following a trial at Stafford Crown Court.

Staffordshire Police officers started investigating Carnochan in 2018 after one of his victims came forward with information.

They then discovered more victims, some of them children at the time of the offences, and others who were over 18.

Carnochan was charged with two counts of raping a girl, three counts of raping a woman and two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a girl.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing date, which was expected to be later this year.

Det Con Hannah Leek said: "We're really pleased to be able to secure all of the possible convictions for the many survivors in this case.

"We want survivors in Staffordshire to know that we're here to support you."
