Woman found dead in village murder inquiry named

A 30-year-old woman who was found dead in a village, sparking a murder inquiry, has been named.

Alice Victoria Woodward, of Beech Close in Little Shelford, Cambridgeshire, was found by police at the address on 21 November following concerns for her welfare.

Opening the inquest into her death, coroner Simon Milburn said results of a post-mortem examination were still pending and adjourned the hearing to a future date.

A 40-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, remains on bail as police investigations continue.

The results of further tests to establish how the woman died could take up to nine months

Mr Milburn said officers found Ms Woodward unresponsive and her death was confirmed by paramedics at 09:22 GMT.

A post-mortem examination was carried out at Peterborough City Hospital on 25 November.

The cause of death proved inconclusive and the results of further testing could take up to nine months.
