Man denies impersonating a police officer

A man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting two children and impersonating a police officer.

James Waddilove, 41, of Thrush Walk, Waterlooville, Hampshire, appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

He denied assaulting two children, one by beating, at Bell Square in Silsden, West Yorkshire, on 28 February.

Mr Waddilove also pleaded guilty to impersonating a police officer at the same location on the same date.

He is due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 25 November for trial and has been given conditional bail which includes a condition that he cannot enter parts of Silsden.
