Fire engine crashes on call-out to prison

A fire engine on the way to a blaze at a prison collided with a car.

Cleveland Fire Brigade said the fire, in a cell at HMP Holme House in Stockton, was out on arrival on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson added: "On the way to attend this incident, one of our fire engines collided with a car on Holme House Road."

No-one was injured or trapped, they said.

HMP Holme House is a Category C facility, and houses more than 1,000 adult male prisoners.
