A calf has been rescued from the River Thames after falling into the water.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a cow in the water near Henley, at 13:35 BST on Monday.

The animal was located near Temple Island and saved by fire crews and the animal rescue unit.

Local farmers also helped with the rescue "despite some truly horrific weather conditions", Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service added.
