Hundreds of people are expected to join an event which brings a colourful procession, stalls and activities to Coventry, organisers have said.

The Canley Parade, which is in its fourth year, will feature vibrant costumes and props created by residents as it marks the theme Nurture Nature on Saturday.

"It is always a joyous day full of colour, music, food and creativity that brings everyone from the community together," said Gemma Wright, from Warwick Arts Centre, which is involved in the event.

The festivities, which include performances from the Canley Samba Band, start at 11:00 BST while the parade goes from Canley Community Centre, through nearby streets and ending at Prior Deram Park.

The event coincides with Big Lunch which includes free food, community stalls and activities.

It is part of the collaboration between the arts centre and Canley residents called Playing Out.

There will be rolling road closures of up to 15 minutes along the parade route, organisers added.
