A 30-year-old man has been charged with a number of sexual offences alleged to have occurred in the United States in November last year.

It is understood the charges are in connection with an alleged incident while Armagh GAA was on a trip to the United States.

The man was arrested on 10 December, 2024 and was later released on bail.

He was charged on Monday with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, police said.

He is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates' Court on 6 May.

A solicitor representing the man who has been charged said: "My client maintains his innocence and has instructed me to contest the charges fully."
