Fire breaks out at west London hospital

About 60 firefighters tackled a fire at a hospital in Paddington, west London, on Thursday afternoon.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said a storeroom was alight on the ground floor of a building at the St Mary's Hospital site in Winsland Street.
No injuries were reported and the flames were brought under control at about 12:35 BST, although the building was evacuated as a precaution, the LFB said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust said 50 patients were moved from three nearby wards that were affected by smoke.
'Very challenging circumstances'
The London Ambulance Service said it had an ambulance and members of its Hazardous Area Response Team on the scene while the evacuation took place.
No-one needed medical attention as a result of the fire.
The NHS trust said it was very sorry for the disruption and concern caused by the fire, in the Clarence/Cambridge building.
St Mary's Hospital director Karen Powell said: "I'd like to thank all our staff involved in responding to this incident – they did a fantastic job caring for patients in very challenging circumstances.
"We are also very grateful to London Fire Brigade and to our patients and visitors for their understanding."
