Man arrested following attempted kidnapping

Police have appealed for information following the arrest of a man on suspicion of attempted kidnap.

Officers were called after a woman was followed when she got off a bus in Swindon at 21:30 GMT on 6 March.

The woman said the man followed her, tried to talk to her, invited her home and then grabbed her as she walked from Princess Street to Fleming Way, police said.

Several people got off a number five bus close to the Leonardo Hotel to help the woman and police said they wanted to hear from any of those people as soon as possible.

Police said a 27-year-old man had been released on conditional bail while investigations continued.
