Cold weather freezes town hall clock
A town hall clock in a Derbyshire town has stopped working due to freezing weather conditions.
The time piece at Glossop Town Hall became frozen in sub-zero conditions on Wednesday.
High Peak Borough Council said it had decided not to intervene yet to "avoid damage to the mechanisms".
Council leader Anthony McKeown, said: "We know how important the clock is to the town and it will be back working again soon."
The town hall is currently undergoing a £7m renovation which means the heating inside the building is not working like usual.
Sorting the heating is one of the last few jobs to be finished in the project, the authority said.
