A town's cultural festival will begin with a launch event at a theme park.

This year's KettFest in Kettering, Northamptonshire, gets underway on Friday at Wicksteed Park's pavilion, which will host music and activities.

The main event on Saturday will see acts perform across five stages in the town centre between 10:00 and 22:00 BST.

Kettfest creative director Zoe Martin said: "This year our theme is connections between people, groups and communities and strengthening those bonds."

She added: "We want everyone to feel they are part of this event and our town."

The 2025 line-up includes spoken word performances, art displays and a cosplay parade, where people dress up as fictional characters from film and TV.

KettFest has been organised by Kettering Cultural Consortium and part-funded by £14,000 from the town council.

The cosplay parade sets off at 11:00. A performance of the murder-mystery play Art To Die For begins at 14:00.

As well as other stages featuring bands and DJs, there is a spoken word stage hosted by Kezzabelle Ambler, 11th Bard of Northampton.

A community stage will feature dancers, performances and music from local schools and groups.

Friday's Wicksteed Park launch - called the KettFest Kick-Off - runs from 16:00 to 20:00 and includes a DJ and dance classes.
