Police say the road will be closed for "some time"

Part of the A1 in Nottinghamshire has been closed following a "serious" crash involving multiple vehicles.

At about 20:00 GMT on Sunday, Nottinghamshire Police said the northbound carriageway was closed between the Five Lane End junction, for Clumber Park near Worksop, and Blyth.

The force has since confirmed the road is closed in both directions and say it will be shut for "some time".

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
