A man has died after a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a lorry.

Gloucestershire Police said officers were called to Harbour Road where it meets the A48 at Lydney in the Forest of Dean, following the crash at about 06:00 GMT.

The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old man who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's next of kin have been informed, the force said, and the road closure has been lifted now collision investigations have taken place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken to police, has been asked to make contact.

Officers will be making CCTV enquiries with local businesses in the area but anyone else with relevant CCTV footage is also asked to get in touch with police.
