Winning designs for new neighbourhood revealed
Artist's impressions of a planned new neighbourhood have been revealed.
The designs show how the five-acre former Sainsbury's site and historical St George's church in Wolverhampton are set to be transformed after the £100m project is completed.
Developer Capital&Centric held a competition to find architects to design the new neighbourhood.
The images show the mix of uses planned for the site, including hundreds of new homes, communal outdoor green spaces, shops, cafes and bars.
The drawings were created by London-based firms Mikhail Riches and Periscope, which won the competition.
John Moffat from Capital&Centric said: "These images start to give a flavour of the vision, where we're taking unloved buildings and repurposing them to create a vibrant neighbourhood right in the centre of Wolverhampton.
"The beautiful Grade II listed church will become the hub, with spaces for the community to get together and hang out."
