A section of road that forms part of a major improvement scheme in Beverley will reopen a week later than expected.

Part of the A164 Minster Way, along with Lincoln Way, will open on Saturday, July 19, East Riding of Yorkshire Council (EYRC) has confirmed.

The authority said the delay was due to "diversion works undertaken by utility providers".

The work, which began in October, is part of the £86.9m A164 Jock's Lodge improvement scheme, which is scheduled to be completed in late 2026.

ERYC said a footpath would remain closed, with some work still to be finished.

Temporary traffic management measures meant vehicles would be required to turn left when leaving Lincoln Way on to the A164, but could turn back on to the westbound carriageway at the next roundabout.

The Jock's Lodge junction links two of the area's busiest roads – the A164 (Beverley to the Humber Bridge) and the A1079 (Hull to York).
