Woman killed when car hit tree during the night

A woman died when a car hit a fence and tree in an early-hours crash in Shropshire.

The 43-year-old driver was killed after the white Nissan Qashqai left the A53 in the Hodnet area at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.

A one-year-old child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not injured.

West Mercia Police said it would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or who had dashcam footage of it, or the car in the minutes before.
