The mural of the fisherman has attracted many comments online

Murals have been created in Newquay town centre to bring in more visitors.

One, at the junction of Fore Street and Sydney Road by artist Elle Koziupa, features a traditional fisherman working on a net.

They are part of the Be Newquay Festival in November.

Mark Warren, of Newquay Business Improvement District (BID), said they wanted to create a trail of murals around the town, and said the fisherman was "absolutely amazing".

"Everybody is going crazy about it online and talking about it," he said.

"It's about bringing things to Newquay all year round."

Onlooker Cameron Johnson said the fisherman was "stunning".

"It's awesome and I'm all for it, the more art the better."

Be Newquay Festival is part-funded by the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
