Free parking to entice Christmas shoppers
Shoppers in Wolverhampton are being offered free parking in parts of the city in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
Parking will be free on Sundays at some council sites from 8 December until 5 January.
There will also be free city centre parking after 16:00 GMT on weekdays from 16 December to 3 January, which coincides with late night shopping centre hours, the council said.
Councillor Qaiser Azeem, cabinet member for transport and green city, said he hoped it would entice shoppers into the city.
“There is plenty going on in our city centre and towns with events to help you get into the seasonal spirit, so I really hope people take advantage of the free parking offer and enjoy a happy Christmas," he said.
“The offer also runs into the early part of January so that people can save a little bit extra when they hit the shops for the New Year sales.”
