A timber industrial building has collapsed following a fire in a Dorset village.

The fire broke out at the industrial shed off Dorchester Road, Sturminster Marshall, and spread to nearby trucks and motorbikes on Thursday shortly before 19:30 BST.

Crews had to keep a safe distance from the fire after a number of acetylene and LPG gas cylinders were found to be in the building.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said a crew was expected to remain at the site on Saturday.

About 11 residents living close to the fire were temporarily taken to safety at a nearby pub as a precaution on Thursday night.

The fire service said a cause had not yet been established and an investigation would be launched once it was safe to do so.

At the height of the blaze, more than 45 firefighters were at the scene.
