Police officer injured in car chase
An officer was injured during a car chase involving a suspected burglar, police have said.
A car was brought to a halt by a police vehicle in Shildon, County Durham, on Thursday during a "tactical contact", Durham Constabulary said.
Two men - aged 21 and 25 - were arrested at the scene.
A police helicopter and the force's Roads and Armed Policing Unit were involved in the pursuit through Chilton Ferryhill.
Police said the vehicle had no lights on and was travelling at high speeds on the wrong side of the road at points.
The "tactical contact" involved hitting the vehicle in order to bring it to a stop.
The driver, 21, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop and having no insurance.
The passenger, 25, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Both remain in police custody.
Police are continuing to hunt for two men who fled the scene.
The force released no further details of the officer's injuries.
