A man died when he was hit by a lorry on the A14 in Northamptonshire.

It happened near the Catthorpe interchange near the Leicestershire border just after 15:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Northamptonshire Police said the man had got out of his vehicle in a layby before being hit by the Volvo lorry on the westbound carriageway.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident.
