A tip which closed due to subsidence is due to reopen.

Wombourne Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will be open from 10:00 until 16:00 GMT five days per week, closing on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The southern side of the site will be open to four cars at a time and will accept general waste, including bulky items, garden waste and wood, Staffordshire Council said.

The site partially reopened in October while a temporary arrangement for some residents to use Stourbridge tip was also implemented. The site will reopen from Friday.

Simon Tagg, the council’s cabinet member for environment, thanked resdemts for their patience.

“Our arrangements for eligible residents to use Dudley Council’s Stourbridge site remain in place, and Bilbrook HWRC is also an option for some,” he said.

Vans, pick-ups, trailers, or trade waste will not be accepted.

Bilbrook HWRC, at Pendeford Mill Lane, Codsall, is open seven days a week and accepts most forms of household waste.
