A council has warned drivers to be vigilant after fake QR codes were discovered on some of its parking machines.
North Northamptonshire Council said some car parks in Corby had codes that would take users to a fake site which asked for payment information. Once payment was made, the parking remained invalid.
The council tweeted that it "does not use QR codes for parking payments at any location."
It added that it would put up notices stating that the QR codes should not be used.
