A cordon has been lifted after a suspicious device was found to be harmless.

Humberside Police said it was called at about 12:00 BST to Winterton Road, Scunthorpe.

A bomb disposal team found that the item was not suspicious, but police said the alarm had been raised with "good intent".

The object has been removed and the surrounding area has been reopened after being evacuated.

Road closures were in place between the A1029 Winterton Road and Glebe Road roundabout and the A1077 next to Dragonby Hill.
