An 82-year-old woman has died following a car crash in north west Leeds.

It happened on Rawdon Road, Horsforth, on Thursday afternoon, police said, with early indications suggesting the woman suffered a "medical episode" at the wheel.

The woman, who was driving a blue Ford Fiesta at 14:00 BST near the junction with Hall Lane, was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

The driver of a red Audi S3 was left with minor injuries following the crash, West Yorkshire Police said.

The force said the Fiesta had been heading away from Rawdon towards the A6120 at the time of the crash, with the Audi travelling in the opposite direction.

Those who witnessed the collision or may have relevant dashcam footage have been asked to contact police.
