Police appeal over car used in triple shooting

Information about a black Kia Niro car used in the shooting of Michelle Sadio could "hold the key" to the investigation into her death, police said.

Ms Sadio was fatally injured in a triple shooting outside a church in north-west London on Saturday night.

Two men in their 30s were also shot. One remains in hospital in a critical condition and the other man's injuries are described as not life threatening.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicle, a hybrid electric car with what detectives called unique alloys, to contact them.

Ms Sadio died at the scene after officers were called to reports of shots being fired at about 21:15 GMT in Gifford Road, Harlesden.

Following the shooting, the car was driven more than two miles (3.2km) from Gifford Road to Barnhill Road in Wembley Park where it was abandoned and set alight, police said.

Det Ch Insp Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, said: "The black Kia Niro was distinctive as it was a hybrid electric vehicle with unique alloys.

"Did you see it that night at any point, or in the days before the shooting?

"What you know, however insignificant it may seem now, could hold the key to this investigation."

There have been no arrests so far and police said while some cordons at the scene of the shooting have now been lifted, others will remain in place for the time being as detectives continue to look for evidence.
