'Huge' works to rebuild 'failing' stretch of road
A "failing" section of a major road is to be rebuilt, Lincolnshire County Council has said.
Roadworks on the A631 at Corringham, east of Gainsborough, will start on 7 June.
Karen Cassar, the council's assistant director for highways, said the "huge piece of work" would incorporate "4,000 tonnes of tarmac".
The project is likely to take about 10 weeks and will involve a series of overnight closures.
A stretch of the A631 between Corringham village and Hemswell Lane will be closed from 19:00 BST to 06:00 on weekdays.
In addition to the roadworks, Ms Cassar said verges would be excavated to improve drainage.
There will be a diversion in place via the A15, A18 and A159.
