Half-marathon feat for NHS workers to boost care
Five doctors and nurses from Wolverhampton have set their sights on completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for a hospital charity.
Brothers Deepak and Pardeep Chand, Suzanne Giles, Laura Payne and Michelle Wilding are set to take part in the event on 7 April.
It will be the only half marathon to go through both Westminster and the city centre.
Proceeds will be donated to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity to boost patients' experiences.
Suzanne Giles, a staff nurse said: “I am thrilled and excited to be running for a very worthwhile charity.
"Exercise has always been an important part of my life especially after COVID - my mental health took a bashing."
Amie Rogers, the charity's fundraising and lead digital engagement officer added the group would raise money for "things over and above what the NHS is able to provide", to improve the experience for patients and families.
