A blaze has been extinguished at a property in Cornwall, fire crews have confirmed.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said no injuries had been reported at the incident on Commercial Road, Cornwall, which they were alerted to at 07:24 GMT on Monday.

Two fire engines from Falmouth Community Fire Station were first to attend with crews from Truro and Tolvaddon reaching the scene later.

A fire service spokesperson said the public should avoid the area.

Martyn Addinall, Falmouth station manager, said fire crews had been "very aggressive" as the building was old and they feared the fire could easily spread.

"But there was a good alarm system so everybody was alerted," he added.

"We went in and cut it back as quickly as we could."
