A man has denied murdering a 24-year-old who died after being hit by a car in Scarborough.

James Roberts, from Alne, North Yorkshire, died after he was struck by the white Audi on Silver Street in the early hours of 8 March.

Cory Davies, 26, of Victoria Park Avenue, Scarborough, appeared at Leeds Crown Court and pleaded not guilty to his murder.

Mr Davies is next due to appear in court on 25 April, the hearing heard, with a provisional trial date set for 8 September.
