Road to stay shut for hours over hit telegraph pole
A road is expected to remain closed into the evening after a vehicle hit a telegraph pole in Leicestershire according to police.
Officers said the vehicle collided with the pole on the B587, between Burney Lane and Nottingham Road, near Lount, at around 7:40 GMT on Thursday.
The National Grid has moved in to carry out emergency repairs and said the road will remain closed between the junctions while workers "make the scene safe and complete the necessary repairs".
The closure is expected to last until at least 17:10 GMT said police.
"We're working as fast as we can to repair the overhead line, restore power and get the road open to traffic again", a National Grid spokesperson added.
"We'd like to thank motorists and our customers for their patience while we resolve the issue."
