Five arrested after fatal shooting in village

Five people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in a village.

Hertfordshire Police said it was called to reports of a shooting in Railway Terrace in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, at about 00:33 BST on Tuesday 17 September.

The victim, who was identified as Mustapha Jatta, 30, was found with fatal injuries.

Det Insp Dale Mepstead said: "We have been making significant progress with this investigation and have now arrested five people in connection with Mustapha's murder."

Shortly after 00:45 BST, the force received reports of a white Volkswagen Golf on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley. Officers believe the two incidents are linked.

The investigation has been led by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Major Crime Unit.

A man in his 20s, a man in his 30s, a woman in her 20s and a teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of murder and have all been released on bail while inquiries continue.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and has also been released on bail.
