Emergency repairs are underway following a sewage leak in Shoreham-by-Sea.

Southern Water apologised for disruption caused by a burst wastewater pipe on Saturday and Sunday in Victoria Road in the town.

The company warned of a large presence of tankers and equipment in the area while they carry out repairs.

Southern Water has said engineers will reline the burst pipe in Victoria Road to prevent future incidents.

The company said it will continue to issue updates as the work progresses.

The leak follows a resolved incident where sewage spilled onto Albion Street, Southwick, after a mechanical fault on Saturday, 27 October.

The company apologised for the problem on Monday and said crews had worked through the night to clear up waste and fix the fault.
