Man critically injured after being hit by car

A 78-year-old man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car.

It happened in Mill Street in Congleton at 11:30 on Wednesday, Cheshire Constabulary said.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital and was said to be in a stable condition there.

The driver of the Kia Seed was uninjured and no arrests were made.
