Scarecrows highlight creativity of villagers
A scarecrow festival is bringing a village community together by showing the creativity of its residents, its organiser has said.
More than 70 scarecrows will feature in a week-long trail in Brinklow, Warwickshire, as part of the festival which runs from August 24-25.
The streets have already started to fill with the resident's creations as colourful handmade bunting stretches throughout the village.
Organiser Jeanette Lomas said she loved to see people's reactions to the scarecrows as they toured the village.
She was inspired to set up the festival after spotting coaches filled with people flocking to Kettlewell, Yorkshire, to admire its scarecrow display.
Live music, a dog show, classic cars and community groups will also feature at the event over the August bank holiday weekend.
"We put a lot of energy into making the scarecrows and doing everything," she said.
