NHS staging roadshow to find new volunteers
The NHS is staging a volunteering roadshow in Scunthorpe.
Staff from the Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust will be on hand to chat to people about a range of opportunities.
Stuart Green, from the trust, said: "Currently, most of our volunteers tend to operate in the Doncaster area, providing fantastic support, and we now want to up the numbers in North Lincolnshire."
Two events will be held on 6 February: at Scunthorpe Central Library, Carlton Street, from 10:00 to 11:30 GMT; and at the Job Centre, 17 Crown Buildings, Laneham Street, from 14:00 to 15:30.
The trust is looking for volunteers for roles in administration, catering and service improvement.
Mr Green said staff were keen to chat to anyone aged 16 and above who had a few hours or more to offer.
According to the NHS, volunteering can help people gain work experience and meet new people. Expenses will be covered and there will be training and development opportunities.
"We are also eager to talk to a wide range of patients, carers and members of the public who would like to have a say in how we run our services," Mr Green added.
Anyone attending the roadshow is asked to bring ID if possible. People who cannot attend but would like to find out more about volunteering should contact the trust.
