Man charged with murder after station assault

A man has been charged with murder after a man who was assaulted at York railway station died.

Police were called to the station on Sunday at about 20:45 GMT after the victim, aged in his 30s, suffered serious head injuries. He later died in hospital.

Mckenzie Dicicco, 22, of Harsley Road, Stockton-on-Tees, has since been charged with murder and affray, according to British Transport Police.

Mr Dicicco will appear at York Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Det Ch Insp Sam Painter said: "A man has been charged in connection with this incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection."

He said the victim's family were being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

Officers asked anyone with information to get in touch.
