The States' water board reminded residents of the ban on sprinklers

Alderney's residents have been asked to be careful with their use of water during the current spell of dry weather.

The States of Alderney Water Board reminded islanders sprinklers are banned and if people were found to have used them they faced fines of up to £5,000.

It said there was "a limited water resource" and although levels were currently "resilient" continued dry weather "may be a cause for concern".

The board asked residents to "be economical with water usage" and thanked them for their cooperation.
