Fire crews tackled a large blaze at a building in East Yorkshire

Firefighters have tackled a large blaze in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Fire and Rescue said "five engines and a number of specialist appliances" were at the scene of a building fire in Patrington.

The fire service was called just after 09:00 BST to a commercial property on Station Road.

Residents and motorists were advised to keep doors and windows closed.

A spokesperson for the fire service said about 38 firefighters were tackling the blaze at its height.

Smoke could be seen for many miles and due to the wind direction was heading towards Ottringham and Keyingham.

The A1033 Withernsea Road had been closed in both directions from Guardians Road to Winestead Lane but has now reopened.
