Sussex prepares for bonfire night celebrations
Some of the largest bonfire events of the season are taking place in Sussex on Saturday.
Battle's bonfire night dates back to 1646 and involves a parade through the town as well as fireworks.
The town claims to have the world's oldest bonfire society.
The head of its Guy is believed to have been created around 1795 and is made from pear wood.
Littlehampton's bonfire and parade was staged last Saturday after £10,000 was raised after an appeal for help.
Elsewhere, Sussex firework displays taking place this Saturday include one at Cuckfield Park which will be choreographed to music and another at Stone Cross Farm in Wadhurst which claims to be "one of the biggest displays in the county".
One of the largest bonfire events in the UK will be held in Lewes on Tuesday with tens of thousands of people expected in the town.
