'Pumpkin Street' brings harvest fun to town
Visitors will be invited to stroll down "Pumpkin Street" when a town celebrates its harvest traditions.
The Spalding Pumpkin Festival, on Saturday, will feature live entertainment, food and gift stalls, games, arts and crafts.
It will run from 11:00 until 15:00 BST alongside the town's regular Saturday market.
Councillor Gary Taylor said the event would be a "great day out" for all the family.
"'Pumpkin Street" will include sculptures by local artist Jonathan Nichols, and there will be a vintage carousel ride, face painting and a fancy dress contest.
Performers on the festival stage will include Anna from Disney's Frozen and the cast of this year's pantomime, Snow White.
A scarecrow trail has also been organised and will run from Saturday until 27 October.
Broad Street Methodist Church will also be joining in with a free arts and crafts session and coffee morning between 10:00 and 14:00.
Spalding Library will be inviting people to cress pumpkin heads and take part in a pumpkin picture hunt as part of National Libraries Week, which has a Go Green theme, between 10:00 to 12:00.
Meanwhile, Ayscoughfee Hall Museum will be holding its own autumn trail, held throughout this month.
Taylor said: "The team have done a fantastic job behind the scenes getting everything ready, there is definitely something for everyone to come and enjoy."
There will be a road closure in Market Place, Hall Place, Sheep Market and Gore Lane on 12 October from 07:00 until 17:00.
The Sheep Market car park will be closed from 17:00 on Friday until 17:00 on Saturday.
