A former Hartlepool United footballer has been cleared of raping a woman.
Oliver Finney, 27, faced one allegation relating to a complaint in Cheshire in 2022.
The midfielder was cleared following a trial at Chester Crown Court, which finished on Monday.
He was suspended by Hartlepool United in October 2023 and subsequently left the club in November the same year. The club has been contacted for a statement.
Finney joined the National League team from League Two side Crewe Alexandra in January 2023.
