Driver in court accused of attempted murder

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after another man was hit by a car in Coventry.

A 19-year-old man was struck by a car in Gresley Road just before 21:00 BST in June. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, West Midlands Police said.

Reece Camilleri, 24, appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 2 December.

Mr Camilleri, of no fixed address, is accused of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
