Four teenagers arrested after boy stabbed in face

Four people have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the face at a village playing field.

Emergency services were called to reports of an assault off Ermine Street North in Papworth Everard - between Cambridge and Huntingdon - just before 22:00 BST on Saturday.

Cambridgeshire Police said the boy was taken to hospital with serious and possibly life-changing injuries, and remained in a stable condition.

Two 17-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were being questioned.

Det Insp Lindsay Harbour said: "Officers will be in the area today carrying out enquiries. I would urge anyone who has not yet spoken with us to make contact as soon as possible."
